Step-by-Step Guide to Updating Your Cronus Zen Firmware

To ensure full compatibility with the latest Zen Studio and Cronus Zen Marketplace, always keep your Cronus Zen firmware up to date. Without the latest firmware, you won’t be able to use these apps or program your device.

How to Update Your Firmware

  1. Connect your Cronus Zen to your PC via the CONSOLE/PC USB port (the rear USB port).
  2. Press and hold the small blue button on the bottom of your Cronus Zen until the OLED screen displays “Zen Bootloader.”
  3. Using a Chromium-based browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave), go to the firmware update tool here: 🔗 https://firmware.modcentral.ca
  4. Click “Connect”, then select “Cronus ZEN” from the device list, and click “Connect” again.
  5. Click the “latest” button to install the newest firmware version.

Device Not Showing Up?

⚠️ Mozilla Firefox is not compatible with the online firmware updater.

If “Cronus ZEN” isn’t listed after clicking “Connect”, please check:

  • You’re using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, or Brave).
  • You have connected the CONSOLE/PC USB port (back USB port on your Zen) to your PC.
  • You pressed and held the small blue button to enter bootloader mode. If the problem persists:
  • Try using a different USB cable — some cables only support charging, not data.
  • Try another USB port on your PC.
